“Northern Industries have successfully completed small to medium contracts for Prince Alfred College since 2005.
During that time all aspects of construction have been undertaken including:
- The complete refurbishment of our Technology Department and Music Suites
- Substantial improvements to our Boarding House facilities
- Alterations to the Reception area of our Administration Building
- Renovations to the Headmaster’s Residence
Prince Alfred College is almost 145 years old, and many of the original buildings have been improved and added to. In many instances the works have had to be sympathetic with the age and style of the buildings and their historical importance.

Like many institutions, our timelines for the delivery of major refurbishments are restrictive, and are often delivered in full during non-contact holiday periods. Northern Industries work closely with us to insure our time frames do not exceed into school terms.

The quality of the workmanship is obvious to us as, after a wild and wet winter, we have had no leaks, no rattles and everything works as it should. We found Chris and his team to be totally reliable. Every appointment was kept and, once they started work, they kept going until it was finished. The cost for the job was very good and the “Extras” charge at the end was very reasonable.
The boys went above and beyond in helpfulness.
We moved most of the furniture but a couple of heavy items were too much for us. The boys carted them out to the garage and carted them back when the work was done. Chris and the lads were good to have around the house. We had to live in the back rooms while they were rebuilding the front. We had no hesitation at all in going out and leaving them in charge. Occasionally they heated their lunch in our microwave. They always rinsed their dishes after eating and stacked them in the dishwasher. Not only are they good at building houses but they are good in caring for them too!
At the finish Chris was determined that we should be satisfied.
He gave me half a day when I know that he was very busy, in order to address all the niggly issues such as reinstating the garden dripper system and even wire brushing some moss-covered roofing tiles under my neighbour’s window. I have no hesitation in recommending Northern Industries to anyone contemplating a building project.”
